Janet E. Hurn
Janet E. Hurn leads the Regional E-Campus at Miami University and is a Senior Instructor of Physics. Janet serves on the executive committee for the Regional campuses and leads the strategic planning and innovation for the future of online learning. She puts her 20 plus years of classroom experience and her love for learning together into a passion for emerging best practices in education. Her research interests include learning analytics, academic integrity in the online environment and online student retention. She is a Google Apps for Education Certified trainer and a Quality Matters Peer Reviewer.
Miami Regionals E-Campus has been recognized for its leadership in innovation. The E-Campus group was awarded 13th best in nation RN-BSN program in 2016, 16th best in state for quality and affordable online programs. The course development process has been recognized by the Sloan-C Effective practice award in 2007 for their online course design process based on Quality Matters. Janet has was the recipient of the University System of Ohio’s Faculty Innovator Award. She has presented at various technology conferences and universities about setting up an online program, cool tools for education and iPads in the classroom.

Julie m. Straub
Julie Straub leads the Regional E-Campus for Miami University and is an Instructor of Computer Science and Media Design. Julie leads team of educational designer/technologists and oversees the development of online programs and courses that helps faculty integrate technology into their classrooms and staff incorporate technology to improve workflow. As a licensed master teacher and principal, she has had the opportunity over the last 15 plus years to serve in instructional and administrative leadership roles in the e-learning within the K-12 and higher education environments to create high-quality online experiences.
A few project highlights include the development and implementation of a successful 1:1 mobile technology initiative with over 8,000 students; large scale learning management system analysis/adoption/implementation; lead faculty to transition traditional learning environments to robust online learning environments and the development of fully online programs.
Julie is excited by the endless opportunities that educational technology and online learning provides to facilitate growth and success using technology as a tool to enhance the teaching and learning processes.
